About
Here you’ll find a showcase of much of New York’s below-the-radar talent. It’s a free, pro-bono site, for anyone to enjoy. Hopefully, you’ll get something out of it too. Look around!
We offer the contact details of the performers we meet, because we hope that you hire them, tip them, find out where they usually play and enjoy their work.
If you’re a performer looking to add your own profile or if you want to share with us a performance or some art that you’ve seen on Manhattan’s streets, contact me and I’ll do my best to help you out. There’s no money involved and no advertising.
Give me feedback! The easiest way of having an effect on this site is to comment or to contact me. Tell me what you like or don’t like, suggest ways of improving the site, or tell me who your favorite street performer is (and their contact information, if you have it).
Whether you’re interested in becoming part of this sort-of guide to new york, or you’re an interested individual looking for an alternative to the regular New York tourist map, this site is here for your enjoyment, not for your money. And considering the trouble of paying for things here, and of performing in New York’s horrible weather, you both need all the help you can get.
Me:
I’m a writer, poolplayer, trick shot artist, juggler and journalist now working at Channel THIRTEEN on their kids club, and running the website, Thirteen Celebration. I used to be the house pro at Eastside Billiards on 86th Street, I had a bi-monthly column in the now-dead FBomb Magazine, and I do a little freelancing when I can find the time. I also used to work at Our Town (the Upper East Side newspaper), and have a bachelor degree in the liberal arts, which means I’m just about qualified to work at McDonalds or Burger King—although my fairly high GPA does suggest I might be able to work at (fingers crossed!) Wendy’s. Born on Valentines Day, 1983, I was seven weeks premature, I’m colorblind, epileptic and left-handed…and that’s about it. If you like, contact me. Also, feel free to visit my other website, Left English In New York, where there are some of my photos, articles, stories and trick shots.
If you’ve got something to tell me, try contacting me here:
